Pait Said, Rue de Commerce

This street has a rather ramshackle appearance. There are attractive galleries on the upper floors of the buildings, but the ground floor is a bit of a jumble. I believe that there is an arcade under the buildings on the right, and that there may once have been one under the buildings on the left, too. It appears that stalls have been built under the shelter of the upper gallery.

The awnings on the left differ from the traditional European awnings in that the fronts of the awnings are not supported by a straight board but rather are allowed to droop. I find the European style generally more attractive, although it is considerably more expensive.

Notice that signage is already out of control here.
